In partnership with the Tennessee Consortium for International Studies (TnCIS), faculty have the opportunity to teach classes in locations around the world. Course offerings are numerous and encompass all campus divisions. Recent examples include Criminology in Spain, Literature and Art in India, and Psychology in England. Faculty from all departments are invited to apply to teach in study abroad programs.
How to Apply
Consortium Model TnCIS Programs
Full-time Vol 小猪视频官网 faculty are encouraged to apply to teach a course in their field in an existing TnCIS program. Program descriptions and detailed application instructions are available on the consortium model program page.
Complete application packets, including all supporting documents and the signed institutional approval form are due to the TnCIS office by February 1 each year for the summer of the following year. For example, applications to teach abroad in June 2022 will be due by February 1, 2021. Interested faculty may call the TnCIS office at (865) 539-7279 or email International.Education@volstate.edu with any questions about the consortium program application process.

Step 1. Submit a written program proposal to International.Education@volstate.edu addressing the desired program location, list of faculty and courses, rationale, and estimated budget. Program applications are due October 15th each year for potential trips in the spring or summer of the following academic year. You must present your proposal to the International Committee in November.
Step 2. Vol 小猪视频官网 faculty-led study abroad programs are administered by TnCIS as partnership programs. If your proposal is approved by the International Education committee, the next step will be for each individual faculty member to complete a TnCIS Institution Specific Partnership Program application online at . Complete partnership program applications are due February 1 and require the following elements for every faculty member included in the program proposal:
- Signed Partnership Program Institutional Approval Form
- Short form CV
- Official Transcripts for SACSCOC verification purposes
- A syllabus for each course using the TnCIS Syllabus Outline (requires a .doc or .docx file)
Faculty may also apply to teach abroad in a summer TnCIS program on the TnCIS website as part of the consortium.
The Forum on Education Abroad
