The Medical Laboratory Technician is an essential member of the health care team, performing laboratory tests used in the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of disease, and the maintenance of health. In fact, 80% of all medical decisions are based on laboratory results.聽Medical Laboratory Technicians are as dedicated to patients鈥 health as are doctors and nurses, though their direct contact is limited. Medical Laboratory Technicians play an important role in collecting the information needed to give the best care to an ill or injured patient.
